Marie Habre obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of Montréal in 1996 and was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1998. Marie joined Lette & Associés in March 1999, after having articled at the legal department of the Montréal Urban Community and after having worked in private practice. Marie has also followed the Canadian Securities Institute, Canadian Securities Course.

Focusing on business law, Marie's practice revolves around the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements, including shareholders agreements, asset and share purchase agreements, license and co-promotion agreements, supply and distribution agreement, in different areas of activity. More specifically, she is regularly involved in the preparation and negotiation of agreements in the pharmaceutical field, as well as in the food industry. She also advises clients on the impact of environmental laws and regulations on their operations.

Marie frequently acts as legal advisor in the context of mergers and acquisitions transactions, as well as corporate reorganizations.  As such, Marie collaborates with her clients in all steps of these transactions, including the due diligence process, negotiations and drafting of all related agreements.  Marie has notably been involved in several major transactions in highly regulated and complex fields of activity, such as environmental services and natural resources.

Marie’s clientele consists mainly of Canadian companies, of which many are part of important international groups.  Marie works closely with their local executives, as well as with their foreign legal departments, in order to provide them with strategic legal and business advice in each of the phases of their implementation in Canada.
