    Taya Talukdar has been with Lette LLP since 1999.

    With her training in both common and civil law and her ability to speak several languages, Taya is uniquely placed to provide advice on matters involving multijurisdictional issues. A significant portion of Taya's practice entails advising clients on business related matters. With a clientele consisting of numerous French, German and Swiss companies, Taya regularly provides advice in connection with doing business in Canada, from incorporation and preparation of commercial contracts to hiring local employees and privacy issues. She also assists clients in obtaining work permits for executives and employees on assignment to Canada, as well as advising them in connection with business visitor entry requirements.

    Taya’s practice also encompasses the area of estate and trust law. In particular, she has considerable experience advising clients whose estate planning involves assets and/or beneficiaries outside of Canada, as well as dealing with foreign estates with assets or beneficiaries in Canada.

    Taya also uses her knowledge of federal and provincial non-profit laws to advise several organizations in the local non-profit sector.

    Of German background, Taya continues to be involved in the German-speaking community in Toronto. She is a member of the Canadian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce Inc. and a member of the board of directors of the German International School Toronto (Deutsche Schule Toronto) as well as its fundraising foundation, the Friends of the German International School Toronto.
